sterilization

n. the process of rendering an organism incapable of sexual reproduction. This may be accomplished surgically (see vasectomy; castration; hysterectomy; ovariectomy; salpingectomy; tubal ligation), or it may result from injury or from exposure to radiation, heat, or chemicals.
