recognition technique

recognition technique

a type of readership-survey technique in which consumers are asked to recall information about a product they say they recognize from previous exposure to its advertisements. Consumers also may be asked questions about advertisements that have never appeared in order to determine their suggestibility or false-recognition level. See also pantry-check technique.
