fluvoxamine

n. a potent SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor). Although its mechanism of action and antidepressant efficacy match those of other SSRIs, it is approved for and largely marketed for treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (see also clomipramine) and social anxiety disorder. U.S. trade name: Luvox.
