cultural ergonomics

a specialty area of ergonomics that focuses on cultural factors relevant to human performance and the design and evaluation of work systems. Such factors as national culture, ethnicity, gender, and class are assessed as part of the task of creating systems that can be used efficiently and safely by a particular culture or subculture.
