ventral amygdalofugal pathway

ventral amygdalofugal pathway

the larger of the two efferent pathways from the amygdala in the brain (see also stria terminalis). It carries fibers from the basolateral group of nuclei and the central nucleus to the hypothalamus and various regions of the forebrain (including the cingulate cortex and orbitofrontal cortex) and brainstem (with which it has reciprocal connections).
