truncated data

a set of data in which some values are excluded as a matter of deliberate selection. For example, if the distribution of age being studied focuses on 21 to 65 years, those under 21 and over 65 are excluded from the analyses. Truncated data can be contrasted with censored data, in which certain values in the data sample are unknown owing to some random cause.

linear correlation

linear correlation

a measure of the degree of association between two variables that are assumed to have a linear relationship, that is, to be related in such a manner that their values form a straight line when plotted on a graph. It provides an index of the degree of constant change in the value of one variable (y) for each unit change in the value of another variable (x).
