censored data

a set of data in which some values are unknown because they are not observed or because they fall below the minimum or above the maximum value that can be measured by the scale used. For example, in a study of survival rates of a group of people with a particular disease, censored data would be obtained if the deaths of some participants occurred after the study ended.
