tetrabenazine

n. a drug used in the treatment of Huntington’s disease and other hyperkinetic movement disorders. It acts by depleting brain stores of the monoamine neurotransmitters dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin and produces such side effects as parkinsonism, sedation, and depression. U.S. trade name: Xenazine. Canadian trade name: Nitoman.
