temporal lobe illusions

distorted perceptions that may be associated with complex partial seizures arising from abnormal discharge of neurons in the temporal lobe. They often include distortions of the sizes or shapes of objects, recurrent dreamlike thoughts, or sensations of déjà vu. Hallucinations, such as the sound of threatening voices, may also be experienced. Also called temporal hallucinations; temporal lobe hallucinations.
