stepwise regression

stepwise regression

a group of regression analysis techniques that enter predictor (independent) variables into (or delete them from) the regression equation one variable (or block of variables) at a time according to some predefined criterion. It is contrasted with simultaneous regression, which enters all variables at the same time. Also called stepwise multiple regression.
