matched-pairs t test

a statistical procedure used to test for significant differences between the two sets of data obtained from a matched-pairs design. For example, a researcher could use a matched-pairs t test to assess whether relationship satisfaction significantly differs between two sets of individuals who have been matched for age and gender, where one set has been married for 5 years and the other for 10 years. Also called paired-samples t test.
