response rate

1. the number of responses that occur within a specified time interval. Also called response frequency.

2. the number of individuals who complete an interview, answer a survey, or join a research study compared to the number who were invited to participate, often expressed as a percentage. Compare refusal rate.

phentolamine

n. an alpha-adrenergic blocking agent with direct action on heart and smooth muscle. It is a potent vasodilator used in the management of severe hypertension associated with catecholamine excess, as in patients with pheochromocytomas. It is in infrequent clinical use. U.S. trade name: Regitine.
