1. a graphical representation of the scores of an individual (or the means of groups of individuals) on multiple measures. The x-axis of the graph usually represents the various measures, whereas the y-axis is the score of the individual on the corresponding measure. Usually the points are connected by short line segments. See personality profile; test profile.

2. a group of characteristics indicating that a particular type of person is likely to engage in a certain behavior. See criminal profiling.
