prevocational training

prevocational training

programs designed to help individuals prepare to enter a competitive work environment. Training is not career- or position-specific but rather focuses on helping individuals develop good work habits and gain the basic skills and abilities essential for employment in any field, such as following directions and being punctual. Prevocational training may be provided to any individual who has not had actual work experience in a competitive job market, such as a college student nearing graduation or an adult entering the workforce late in life, but it is most often offered to adolescents and to adults with disabilities as part of a vocational rehabilitation program.
