posttraumatic disorders

emotional or other disturbances whose symptoms appear after an individual has endured a traumatic experience. Common posttraumatic disorders include posttraumatic stress disorder, acute stress disorder, the dissociative disorders, and some types of phobias and anxiety disorders, as well as depressive disorder and situational psychosis.
