posttest-only control-group design

a research design in which an experimental group and a control group are compared on a posttest measure only. It is assumed that participants’ results on any pretest administered before the introduction of the experimental manipulation would be essentially equivalent across the groups due to the random assignment of individuals to conditions. A posttest-only control-group design is distinct from a posttest-only design, in which all groups receive some treatment and there is no neutral comparison.
