n. the organ that contains the sensory tissue (about 600 mm2) that underlies olfactory sensitivity (see olfactory epithelium). The major functions of the nose are to modulate the temperature and adjust the humidity of inspired air and to direct that air toward the sensory tissue in the nasal cavity.

the formation or change of an attitude as a result of the association of an attitude object with a pleasant or unpleasant stimulus in the environment. Attitudes may be conditioned via classical conditioning or operant conditioning processes.
