nonattitude

n. an extremely weak attitude that has little persistence over time and minimal resistance to persuasion. Such attitudes have little impact on information processing and behavior. In extreme cases, nonattitudes may be reports of attitudes that reflect no meaningful evaluation of the attitude object. See also attitude strength. [originally proposed by U.S. political scientist Philip E. Converse (1928–  )]
