multiple reinforcement schedule

a compound schedule of reinforcement in which two or more schedules alternate and each schedule is associated with a different exteroceptive stimulus. For example, under a multiple fixed-interval extinction schedule, a tone could be present while the fixed-interval schedule is in effect and absent when extinction is in effect.
