a procedure for studying a single response in which two or more schedules of reinforcement are arranged to alternate, to appear in succession, or to be in effect simultaneously (i.e., concurrently). See conjoint schedule; mixed reinforcement schedule; multiple reinforcement schedule; tandem reinforcement.
