monosynaptic arc

a simple neural arc that involves just two neurons with a synapse between them, as in the case of a monosynaptic stretch reflex. Also called two-neuron arc. Compare polysynaptic arc. See also reflex arc.

narcotic stupor

a state of lethargy or limited mobility and decreased responsiveness to stimulation due to the effects of an opioid drug. This state may border on loss of consciousness and may be followed by coma in extreme cases.
