MINERVA 2

a global memory model that describes, in mathematical form, memory for both individual experiences (see episodic memory) and abstract generic facts (see semantic memory). The model postulates that each experience leaves a memory trace, and repetition creates multiple copies rather than strengthening a single trace. Memory retrieval activates the sum of all relevant traces. [proposed by Douglas L. Hintzman (1941–  )]
