global memory model

a mathematical model of the structure and organization of memory that is intended to explain data from a range of experimental tasks and manipulations, as opposed to more restricted models of single phenomena. See also MINERVA 2; search of associative memory.

divergent thinking

creative thinking in which an individual solves a problem or reaches a decision using strategies that deviate from commonly used or previously taught strategies. This term is often used synonymously with lateral thinking. Compare convergent thinking. [defined in 1967 by Joy Paul Guilford]
