linear program

a form of programmed instruction in which the learner independently studies information presented (e.g., via a booklet) in small, discrete, step-by-step frames that usually become progressively more complex. Correct answers to review questions are given after each frame so as to provide immediate feedback and continuous reinforcement.

1. a personality trait characterized by a strong interest in having new experiences; it is often associated with risk-taking behavior, and hence the term may be used synonymously with sensation seeking. It is also increasingly the preferred term for neophilia.
