personality type

any of the specific categories into which human beings may be classified on the basis of personality traits, attitudes, behavior patterns, physique (see constitutional type), or other outstanding characteristics. Examples are Carl Jung’s introversion–extraversion distinction and functional types and Erich Fromm’s character types, such as the exploitative orientation and marketing orientation.
