1. adj. denoting interest in or focus on one’s self rather than on other objects or people.

2. n. an individual who is dispositionally predisposed to put his or her personal interests and motivations before the interests and goals of other people and other groups. Idiocentrics are more likely to describe themselves in terms of personal qualities and traits rather than memberships and roles. See also egocentrism; individualism.
