human relations theory

a general approach to management that emphasizes the importance of employee attitudes, interpersonal relationships, group dynamics, and leadership styles in achieving organizational effectiveness. In human relations theory, considerate, participative leaders who are skilled in communicating with employees are held to achieve better results than authoritarian leaders. See Hawthorne effect.
