fire-setting behavior

a tendency to set fires. In young children, the behavior is often associated with curiosity and a lack of understanding of the consequences. In older children and adults, it is associated with a variety of disorders, such as conduct disorder, schizophrenia, and antisocial personality disorder. See also pyromania.
