cuneate tubercle

cuneate tubercle

a swelling at the upper end of the cuneate fasciculus that contains the nucleus cuneatus, which receives fibers from sensory nerves of the upper part of the body. The cuneate tubercle is the largest of the three nuclear swellings on the dorsal surface of the medulla oblongata; together with the gracile tubercle, it forms the origin of the medial lemniscus.
