cross-tolerance

cross-tolerance

n. a condition in which tolerance to one drug results in a lessened response (i.e., increased tolerance) to a related drug. Cross-tolerance may be seen with amphetamines, benzodiazepines, hallucinogens, and opiates, among other drugs. Compare cross-dependence.
