a performance setting in which rewards are assigned on the basis of individual rather than group achievement and which is structured in such a way that the success of any one individual decreases the rewards received by the other group members. Meckel’s syndrome

a congenital disorder marked by microcephaly; eye, ear, and olfactory abnormalities; and varying degrees of brain-tissue anomalies. Some affected children show premature closure of skull sutures.
