avoidance–avoidance conflict

avoidance–avoidance conflict

a situation involving a choice between two equally objectionable alternatives, for example, when an individual must choose between unemployment and a salary cut. Also called double-avoidance conflict. See also approach–approach conflict; approach–avoidance conflict.
