the perceived size of a stimulus. This depends on many factors in addition to the size of the stimulus on the retina, most importantly the perceived distance from the observer to the object. See also size constancy; size cue.

mammography

n. a diagnostic procedure that uses low-dose X-ray photography to detect breast tumors or other abnormalities, either noncancerous (benign) or cancerous (malignant). The X-ray negative produced is called a mammogram.
