n.

1. any deviation, particularly a significant or undesirable one, from the normal or typical. See also mental aberration.

2. in vision, the failure of light rays to converge at the same point, due either to distortion by a lens (spherical aberration) or to the formation of colored fringes by a lens (chromatic aberration).
