zimbo

n. a hypothetical class of zombielike beings (see zombie) who are behaviorally indistinguishable from humans, responsive to their environment, and capable of complex mental operations but who have no inner life as this is ordinarily understood (i.e., no experience of qualia). The concept was introduced by U.S. philosopher Daniel C. Dennett (1942–  ) as a response to the zombie argument. Dennett’s position is that human beings are, in fact, zimbos.
