x-coordinate

x -coordinate

n. the horizontal value in a pair of graph coordinates (x, y), which indicates how far to move left or right from the origin along the x-axis. For example, in the ordered pair (4, 8), the x-coordinate is 4 and the corresponding vertical y-coordinate value is 8. See Cartesian coordinate system.
