n. a state of mental distress or agitation due to concern about an impending or anticipated event, threat, or danger. Difficult to control, persistent and excessive worry is a main symptom of generalized anxiety disorder. See also metaworry.

the study of mental experiences, including consciousness and intentionality, in nonhuman animals and of the influence of these experiences on the animals’ behavior as they interact with their natural environment.
