United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Mentally Retarded Persons

a 1971 declaration by the United Nations affirming the human rights of people with intellectual disabilities. These issues were largely subsumed under the 1993 Standard Rules on the Equalization of Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities. See rights of people with mental disabilities.
