treatment audit

a procedure that measures quality assurance in health care. Audit activities include assessment of the structure, process, and outcome of the services provided. Audits occur in a cyclical process, enabling the results of the assessment to be fed back to providers to improve or maintain the services assessed. See also program integrity; program monitoring.
