torticollis

n. a continuous or spasmodic contraction of the neck muscles, resulting in rotation of the chin and twisting of the head to one side. This form of dystonia may be neurological and may respond to drug treatment or biofeedback training. However, it may also be psychogenic. Torticollis is sometimes classed as a complex (dystonic) tic. —torticollar adj.
