any model specifying that there is a value within a range of values for an independent variable at which the dependent variable (e.g., the behavior or action of a participant) changes from one state (e.g., unwilling to buy a product) to another (e.g., willing to buy the product).

tractotomy

n. the surgical interruption of a nerve tract in the brainstem or spinal cord. One form of tractotomy is of benefit in bipolar disorder that is resistant to other forms of treatment.
