n. the process in which the teeth erupt through the gums, typically occurring between 4 and 9 months of age. During this process, the infant may exhibit several accompanying symptoms, such as an increase in irritability, sleep disturbance, temporary rejection of breast or bottle feeding, gum inflammation, and excessive drooling.
