superego sadism
in classical psychoanalytic theory, the aggressive, rigid, and punitive aspect of the superego, or conscience. Its energy is derived from the destructive forces of the id, and its intensity and strength are dependent on the violent and sadistic fantasies of the child’s primordial strivings. See sadism.
