subcutaneous injection

injection of a drug beneath the skin, often in the upper arm or thigh where there is an adequate layer of subcutaneous tissue. Although the subcutaneous route is used mainly to inject fluids, medications may also be administered subcutaneously in the form of slowly absorbed pellets. Also called hypodermic injection. transcultural psychotherapy

transcultural psychotherapy

any form of psychodynamic psychotherapy that emphasizes cultural sensitivity and awareness, including culturally defined concepts of emotion, drives, and behavior. In the psychiatric community, the term is used somewhat more often in a sense similar to multicultural therapy in clinical psychology.
