statistical conclusion validity

the degree to which the conclusions drawn from statistical analyses of data are accurate and appropriate. In other words, statistical conclusion validity addresses whether inferences about relationships (i.e., whether the independent variable and dependent variable covary and, if so, how strongly) are reasonable, given the observed data. It is related to but distinct from internal validity, which is concerned with the causality of the relationship.
