social relationship

the sum of the social interactions between individuals over a period of time. Momentary social interactions can be described in terms of parental care, dominant–subordinate or aggressive–fearful interactions, and so on, but a social relationship is the emergent quality from repeated interactions. A dyad (interacting pair) may have a generally positive or generally negative social relationship that is reciprocal or complementary. Dyads with long-term social relationships will adjust behavior with each other according to feedback received.
