Simenon’s syndrome

a delusional condition characterized by the false perception or belief that one is loved by or has had a sexual affair with a public figure or other individual. See erotic delusion; erotic paranoia. See also Clérambault’s syndrome. [named for Georges Joseph Christian Simenon (1903–1989), Belgian-born French novelist, possibly because the condition was featured in one of his stories]
