semantic jargon

a symptom of fluent aphasias (e.g., Wernicke’s aphasia) in which individuals utter real words and sentences but in combinations that have little meaning. For example, an individual asked about his or her poor vision might reply, “My wires don’t hire right.” See also jargon aphasia.
