role deprivation

the denial of culturally and psychologically significant statuses and roles to certain individuals or groups. Individuals can be unfairly deprived of social roles, as when they are required to retire at a specific age, or unfairly denied group roles, as when they are excluded from leadership positions for no valid reason.
