resting tremor

a trembling that occurs when the affected body part is at rest. It is a characteristic symptom of Parkinson’s disease, in which case it sometimes is referred to as a parkinsonian tremor. The term parkinsonian tremor, however, more properly denotes any tremor associated with Parkinson’s disease, whether a resting tremor or an action tremor.
